  • Having well-deserved fun

This week finds me in my favorite town: Charleston, SC. I'm on spring break and glad of it. I have needed a break for quite a while.

The thing is, though whenever I come here, I always want to be a little bit of a bad-ass. Because I can definitely get away with things here that I wouldn't get away with back home. Its almost like the over-done "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." In fact, I had been debating getting another tattoo, but I've decided against it... even though I really want another one. I can wait, I suppose. Maybe I'll get this great Coach bag (which is on sale for $60--woo hoo!) instead of the tattoo.

Another thing I've noticed is that I get treated much better by guys when I am down here. Which perhaps encourages me to be a bit more free with my affections. I can say with all honesty that there are two guys down here that I would totally go for if they liked me. One, whom I shall call "Ande", I have known for years and I feel very attracted to him, he's a great guy. On the other hand there is this guy "Dani" who, as far as I know, is just looking for someone to mess around with, which isn't really what I am looking for, but I still find myself kinda attracted to him and hanging out with him a good bit since I've been down here.

Anyway, I need to go run errands and stuff because we are going out and doing "bar golf" tonight, which apparently means I need to find something argyle. Wish me luck.

    A Cat's Life for Me

My cat is napping on the floor beside my chair. Its too cute, she has her belly up and its all fluffy and snuggly (although its a trap! you can't actually snuggle with her belly or you will pull back a bloody stump as she will attack your hand until she is sure its dead). Her tail is all curled and her paws keep twitching as she drifts off into dreamland. Lucky cat. I wish I could spend my day lounging about and napping in the sun and chasing butterflies and bird and squirrels whenever I felt like it, my only concern would be trying to encourage my keepers to feed me as much as possible. I would much rather do that than frantically go back and forth to work and school all day.

Four more days until Saturday and my official first day of spring break. It can't get here fast enough.

    Hi Xanga

Here are five random things about me to get started:
    1. I believe that there is a lot of good in life, but there is also a lot of crap. The good in life is all sweetness and light and air. The crap in life feels like a two-ton brick. But, in my experience, a small amount of good goes a long way in reducing the crap-emissions in your life.
    2. I have a definite problem about being 1) too picky when it comes to guys and 2) making friends with guys. Its the whole "fish are friends, not food" idea... except everyone is a friend and no one is more than that.
    3. Living with my family is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because I don't have to pay rent. A curse because I am living. with. my. family.
    4. Every couple of months I get a very strong urge to just run far far away and just start over somewhere new. I have never followed through on that urge, but someday, I will.
    5. I am beginning to realize the cost of living life the way I have been for the last several months. My true self and the self I have been showing to others has become more and more divided. It seems to have become a sort of inner battle, and it has become increasingly difficult to figure out which side will win.
